Who We AreBCPSEA is a full service employers' association and is the accredited bargaining agent for school boards, for unionized teaching and support staff in the British Columbia K-12 public education system. Our statutory mandate also includes coordination of exempt staff compensation, benefit administration, human resource practices, and collective bargaining objectives. |
GovernanceBCPSEA operates under a co-governance model between public school boards and the provincial government. Representatives of the 60 public school boards annually elect nine school trustees to the Board of Directors, including the Chair and Vice Chair. The provincial government appoints up to four representatives to the Board. The BC School Superintendents’ Association and the BC School District Secretary-Treasurers’ Association each appoint one non-voting representative to the Board. BCPSEA employs a professional staff of labour relations/human resource practitioners. |
